hi all, i've been struggling with this all day and i finally got inkstitch working properly again (it wasn't running after updating my mac os, but i just re-installed it and it was back to normal) all my objects are fine, troubleshooting is happy, the stitch preview is perfect. but when i try to save it as a .pes file, i get this mess, and it says like "your file was not saved"

    help??

Looks like you are using an outdated version of Ink/Stitch.

The latest version is available through the Ink/Stitch website: https://inkstitch.org/docs/install-macos/

I'm not though! I downloaded and installed the latest version. I'm running on Ventura, which is new, so I guess that could be it? Is there not a version that's compatible with that yet? But yeah, before I posted, and again just now, I re-installed it several times. It'll run params and previews and everything, working just fine, except I can't SAVE the file as a .pes

Wow that is so very odd. I am sure this error cannot be produced by the latest version. We are not using python 2.7 for quite some time anymore. I can see how this must be so annoying for you. The only idea I have about it is to double check if you not accidentally have an old installation somewhere in the extensions folder (which would be strange, because you said it's a completely updated system). Sorry, but I am a bit lost on this one, but I'll think about it.

Oh, Ventura shouldn't be a problem. There are quite some people out there using Ink/Stitch with Ventura without a complaint.

Just Inkscape states on the website that updating to Ventura can lead to issues with gtk, but that seems rare so far.
