I have been working on this design that I save in a DXF file for a laser cutter. It looks fine until I open it and then I see the lines shooting off of the page. Any help?
Are all paths combined (Ctrl+A, Ctrl+K) before saving as DXF? If not, you could try that. That would maybe make sure the paths are interpreted in the same manner.
Maybe also, as these are all straight lines, make sure all segments are true straight lines (in node-mode select all and press the button for straighten segments "Make selected segments lines")
And maybe also simplify (Ctlr + L) to remove some noise like double nodes if any (NB if all sements are not straight already look out for distortions...)
Just some thoughts - in my experience these things make it easier on the dxf
