I have a question about submitting more than one entry. If we submit 2 entries to the gallery, but we have another idea and make a 3rd drawing, could we delete one of those we already submitted, and upload the 3rd one? As long as there are only 2 by the time voting starts, could we shuffle our entries around?
Is that correct? Or is it, after we upload 2, that's it?
Brynn, just an fyi. There's def an option to delete after entering - how do I know this? I submitted one entry last night - 3 or 4 times, had to delete the first entries. (my mesh gradient background does not display, at least not on my pc for my entry, no idea why). So to answer your question, def can delete entries, lol! I had the same question as you actually.
Aah, yes. I knew it was probably possible to delete them. But I was asking whether the rules would permit it. I'm not sure why it wouldn't. But I wanted to check.
One reason I can think that it might not be proper, is because someone is more or less inspecting each image, to make sure it has all the required parts. I don't know if they are downloading the SVG files, but they're at least spending some time on it. So if the changing of minds, unsubmitting an image, and submitting a new one would cause a problem - well, I just wanted to be sure.
We will barely shy away people for uploading 3 anyway. If they're different enough and not just copies. The rule is there to stop people spamming and give more people a chance. But enforcement is manual and people have to remember to check. (they might forget)
Well that's part of what I was thinking. I have my main image, but I can't decide about the background. So I thought I would submit them as my 2 images. But now, I'm getting an idea for a totally different image and what if the image turns out good enough to submit. Then I would make a choice about the background, delete one, and submit the 3rd.
I just didn't want it to cause a problem.
Is it possible to submit one image, but with an alternate background? Well actually, one of the backgrounds is no background - just a transparent background. The other background has a simple gradient.
Arrgh! Maybe I'll come to a decision by the deadline. Maybe the 2nd idea won't work anyway. I guess we still have a couple more weeks....
Brynn, I should say that when I deleted mine it was before they starting verifying each one, I didn't realize they would start that process now (as opposed to when the voting started). Now that I know that the mesh gradient isn't allowed I don't need to delete any more. I'm having the same problem you are, the background, then I come up with a new idea, sure wish we could submit 3-4, lol. Looking forward to seeing your design(s)!

I have only one so far. I just can't decide between 2 backgrounds. I have an idea for another, but didn't start drawing it yet.
Next year, can we make it a rule that descriptions must be in English? I don't have time to translate all the different languages that are being used.
Mesh gradient is allowed and encouraged!
You just have to export a PNG from inkscape and upload BOTH svg and png when you submit.
