Hi ,I'm looking for some help , I have created some hexagon in inkscape using this tutorial https://youtu.be/O28SwStQOXw and now what I'd like to do is use the shape I made from hexagons look like it is cut into a wood grain . I have seen a tutorial for text but nothing for the shapes I'm looking for. Any help would be great thanks 

It depends on how you want it to look... 
A hexagonal recess cut into the wood, or a groove cut into the wood in a hexagon shape. (?)

BTW simple hexagons are easy to make using the Polygon/Star tool.
