Can someone please tell me what is going on here? Text object: I want InkS to make a simple flush left, but the result is either centered or flush right with textbox offset. It just acts crazy ...
It’s useless and not making sense. Have I missed something in the interface?
Now I dont have to pull my hair to figure it out. Your suggestion works😊, but a bugfix would be fine. To create a new textbox and reenter the styles is for the moment a solution too:
You can also duplicate the text object and delete what you don't need from both. But I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work in first place unless a special formatting is applied to the text like carrier returns or tabulators for instance. Maybe copy and paste the text into a profound text editor which can show text formatting to be sure.
It might also be text copied from an external source. In those cases, sometimes it is helpful to use "remove manual kerns", or to paste into a plain text editor, then copy from the editor into Inkscape.

Might be this bug: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/issues/1645
I'm not sure when 1.31 will be released... if the date is still far away, you could request a backport to the current version.
In the meantime a workaround could be to make two text objects and use the align tools.
Thanks @TylerDurden

Tried the suggestions but still handling the text box appears mysterious and very unpredictable by nature.
What works best by now is establishing a new box and then copy/paste the text herein.
