I'm trying to export this image as a DXF, using the Path->Trace bitmap->Autotrace function. Any advice on how to adjust settings so that Inkscape recognises the boundary between the magenta and the black/white section as a continuous boundary or line? I can get it to draw all the black white sections but never the magenta boundary. Any advice appreciated thanks :)

You can simply use the fill bucket on the magenta shapes and Path->Combine them together. No autotracing needed.
