I commonly use filter effects and color linear gradients on text, and export to PDF. The "Rasterize Filter Effects" has made inkscape work well in the past. Today, this appears to be broken, perhaps by an update?

To reproduce: Make some text, apply a linear gradient fill with two colors, export to PDF. Regardless of settings, I can no longer get the gradient to export to PDF, which used to occur by checking "rasterize filter effects". Does anyone else see this? Did a setting move I need to find before I report a bug?

I'm on Ubuntu 02.04LTS and Inkscape 1.3 (1:1.3+202307231459+0e150ed6c4).

This appears to only apply to text, not paths, so a quick workaround is to covert your text to path and then apply the gradient (save the text outside of the page for future ediability).

Can you try a gradient without any transparency please?

Yes that does work for output to PDF, except since I'm going to a publishing software (scribus) and then to print, all fonts must be converted to outlines. I tried to do that in Scribus, but Scribus can't read the file with the gradients on text. Oddly, this all worked great for the past 6 months until this week.

I'm also confused what inkscape 1.3 does differently when you use "export" and choose PDF vs "save a copy" and choose PDF. In the former, you appear to be able to move the alpha channel to 100, but that doesn't exist for "save a copy".
