I had an issue with a file that I was working on that contained multiple pages. When I reopened the file, there was only one page left but the elements were still where they were supposed to be.
I tried deleting all the graphic elements and added some new pages. Again, as soon as I close and reopen the file, only one page is left. I tried the Cleaning Up Document function with the same result. I also tried deleting every XML tags just in case one was creating the issue, but no such luck...
I just installed Inkscape v1.2 this afternoon but maybe something got corrupted. I would appreciate if somebody could try to open the file and add some pages, close the application and reopen the file. That would mean that the problem is not with some hidden code in the file and probably more with the software... Next step would be to uninstall/reinstall the software... 😞
Mmmh - strange. I opened your file - get the Pages tool hit the "add Pages" button 2 times - got 3 pages now - save and restart Inkscape and all 3 pages are still there:

If you have recently upgraded/updated Inkscape, the Preferences need to be reset to the newly installed version.

@Polygon: Thanks for testing the file
@TylerDurden: Resetting the Preferences did the trick. Thanks
