I'm having trouble with the pattern along path feature. It boils down to the following: Whenever there is a change in direction in the skeleton path, the pattern will shrink to zero size.
I'm wondering as to why this is the case, and possibly how to prevent it.
Either of the two would be valid results I would guess. I do not see options "+corners" or "distribute" in my Path effects tab. Where would I find those options?

"Distribute along Path" is in Extensions->Generate from Path and "Corners" is a Live Path Effect.
