Hello, I have an image that I have imported into Inkscape, and while it will work for my needs, I would like to be able to create it directly in Inkscape.
I assume I need to start with two circles, and I am dealing with the Stroke on them, but how can I make them overlap as shown? It looks like the top part of one arc is a higher level than the other, and the converse for the bottom.
If someone can list the steps for me to make this image (don't worry about the background...it will be white, not transparent) here, I would be grateful!
Well, that was pretty easy...Once I placed the two shapes, I just retracted the end of the lines to get the final shape. Thanks for your prompt again, Polygon!

You just need one partial parametric Circle object; make a clone mirror horizontally and vertically (H,V), arrange... File attached:
Thanks, Polygon; I will give it a try. I did not see an attachment anywhere here, so we'll see if I can do it myself.

It takes practice to look at a shape and imagine the steps to get there. Usually there's more than one way. Here's one method.
