it is possible to build this other way around (gradients are input) BUT there is a bug in inskcape that makes this messy tequnice so I did not make this tutorial yet. But you can do it by adding the pattern to canvas using that as a reference image (fe image) then tile it (fe tile). now the messy part you need to go to XML editor defs filter and to image filter manually add width and height values . if you see repeated pattern you did it correctly sometime you need to turn one and of filter to see changes. then jus tomposit pattern inside a source gradient blur crush and you are done
Hello everyone,
I try to follow Adam Belis' halftone tutorial : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eI3QfcXMjMw
But I have a slightly different scenario. In my case, I have a svg shape with gradient as input image.
I found how to select it in filter options, but it seems not be taken into account.
Anyone has an idea to solve this ?
I only watched part of the video. If I understand correctly, you need to have a png or jpg image for the effect to work. Try doing this:
1) Export the shape as a png image;
2) Import the png into Inkscape...and follow the tutorial.
Or, just use Alt+B to make a bitmap.
