Is there a way to disable snapping for certain groups or objects? This feature might be useful for drawing details like highlights and shadows without having them interfere with your general main shapes when snapping.
It would nice to have an option to disable snapping on locked groups for example. I don't think there is one (I did not found such an option in Global inkscape > Behavior > snapping preferences)
A workaround is to do a bitmap copy [Alt + B] and then hide the object : this way you avoid snapping to paths and some other items (but not for bounding boxes items, rotations centers...).

I'd keep in mind that snapping can be overridden by holding the Shift key when dragging objects or nodes.
