is it possible to set an autosavepath with environment variables - i.e. $HOME/inkscape/autosave/ (Linux) or %USERPROFILE%/inkscape/autosave/ (Windows)?

Have you tried to alter the path @ Inkscape Preferences->Input/Output->Autosave: Autosave directory already?
yes, but when I insert the path with variables autosave failes - cannot find path. autosave with c:\... is working.
