Beyond the Basics Ask for advice: How might I recreate this effect?

    Hello. 

    I hope you are all well.

    I am new to this forum but not to Inkscape.

    I am trying to create a 78 inch record cover. My inspiration for this is a Capital 78 cover from the 1950s:

    And this is the image that I want to make "look" like the above cover:

    Can anyone suggest how I might achieve this effect in Inkscape?

    I recommend playing with the colour filters. Try [Filters > Colour > Duochrome].

    In this example I used [Filters > Colour > Grayscale] then applied an overlay colour with [Blend mode: Lighten].
