In a style inspired by Art Nouveau poster artist Alphonse Mucha. I have been studying Aaron Blaise's tutorials on how to draw big cats, and used a number of reference photos to make sure I had some of the head's coloring and proportions correct, but it's not directly from any one photo, really. "Born Freely" is a play on the title "Born Free," the true life story of a couple who pioneered the idea of returning a lion raised in captivity to the wild. Additional text is Linux Liberatore Display. I wanted to keep the text in keeping with the other branding to give your eyes a neutral feeling so that the drawing would stand out on its own.
A kaleidoscopic celebration of Inkscape 1.0
Taking a traditional pen and ink and bringing it "freely" to life with Inkscape 0.92, the gold standard in open-source software. Used Bend and Perspective/Envelope from the 0.92 Beta release, plus the new resize handle when drawing from a saved object on the spray effects. And lots of stuff from 0.91. What a great tool set!
Balloons on the loose! Fly freely when you draw freely. Text is Linux Liberator, same as the branding font.
Using some of the new and old features of Inkscape. The new "Bend" and "Perspective/Envelope" were particularly helpful here. UPDATED DESIGN, 12 November, 2016.
