I have these pre-cut sheets of sticker paper (design shown below), and i am looking for a way to fill the label space with my logo to print it afterward, it's pretty easy to do it with image editing programs (Copy the label design, select the label space, paste it in), but i couldn't paste the label inside it's space with inkscape,
** I stress, this is the way I would do it, but there are many ways to do things in Inkscape. Some users here probably have a better method. **
This is what I did.
Opened the PDF template in Inkscape, moved it to a layer of it's own. Copied the first box in the layer Ctrl + C. Locked the that layer.
Made a new layer, pasted in place, Ctrl + Alt + V.
The copied box now sits in its own layer, perfectly aligned with the top left box of the original template.
Using Edit>Clone>Create Tiled Clones and then worked out the perfect settings to make an aligned set of labels which will overlay the original perfectly.
If you type the settings into the clone dialogue I have highlighted.
Make a little logo design of some odd bird thing with some text. Grouped that together and aligned it into the first box we made using align and distribute panel, settings highlighted.
Now we have a nicely aligned logo inside the first label.
You can put what ever you want into the first label.
All you have to do, is lasso select the label and the group and click 'Create' in the clone panel - and it will make the picture to the right ( all labels filled ) :)
You can edit this template - do whatever you like :)
Instruction screen shots are outside the page area, if you zoom out a bit :) - Use Ctrl + Mouse wheel
Here's another method using the snapping tools. Turn on snapping, turn on snapping to miscellaneous points, turn on snapping to object rotation centre. Now [click+drag] your logo to the first sticker until it snaps to the centre. Without releasing the mouse button, use [spacebar] to stamp a copy of the logo. Drag the logo to the next sticker and repeat.
Hi inkscape community, new member here,

Thank you all for your help!
Are you using a downloadable template of some kind from the sticker manufacturer
Like this ? https://www.avery.co.uk/template-l7163
If so can you provide the link ?

Any one to help?
If you are new to Inkscape, I realise that method may be a bit complicated sorry.
It should look like this if you open it in Inkscape:
Here's another method using the snapping tools. Turn on snapping, turn on snapping to miscellaneous points, turn on snapping to object rotation centre. Now [click+drag] your logo to the first sticker until it snaps to the centre. Without releasing the mouse button, use [spacebar] to stamp a copy of the logo. Yes, I do have a habit of making simple things to complicated :)
Having said that - the user's post which asked the question has vanished :)
I just noticed that this topic is nearly a year old. Somehow it was flagged for me as a new forum post when it's actually an archaeological relic.
Topic necros can happen when a spammer posts, then gets deleted.
