Is there some sort of trick to this?

I've tried repeatedly to get a DXF file to import using various different formats to from R12, R13 to R14 and so on....

Every single one issues an error message see attached image.

judging by that I'm assuming I've got to download something to get it to work as there's a module missing. But I can't find any info on what if anything.

Suggestions are welcome, I know the file works as it opens in other programmes just not in Inkscape.

Please describe your OS & version, the version of Inkscape and the installer you used.

Version 1.0 as for the installer I'm assuming you mean Windows 64bit?

Installers vary depending on Inkscape version and OS.  Win 10 can be 32, 64, or Store Version, also .msi, .exe, or 7z.

Anyway of identifying which one was used? I've had Inkscape on the PC for months now so really can't remember.

So would you recommend using a specific one? and then uninstalling and reinstalling Inkscape?
