Hello --
I would like to create a mask so I can color area A gray. (Ideally, I'd like to cross-hatch but Inkscape doesn't seem to have this pattern.)
What is the best way to do this? I tried to split paths but got odd black areas. (This image was .svg imported from diagrams.net.)
Thanks.ย

A quick workaround could be the use of the Bucket tool, after checking no "holes" along the boundaries of A.
Thanks. Bucket wouldn't work on the A space.ย Ultimately, I patched up holes, exported a .png, imported it again, erased parts I didn't need, and poured the bucket on the rest.ย
