Beginners' Questions Fill not lining up with path

I have a closed path where I an trying to move nodes around.  When I move the node the fill does not line up with the path.  I have to continue moving the node around until the fill finally lines up with the path.  Attached is a animated gif of my issue.  This happens often.

You can see in this example I did not click off of the node after each move but that does not change the results.  If I click off the node it will adjust the path to match the preview and fill as represented in the preview.

In this example I did have snapping disabled.

In this second example, you can see the fill does not line up with the path, once I click off of the node the path will change to match the preview of the fill. The node moves to match the fill.

Any ideas to have have the fill work correctly based on where I move my nodes. It is as if the nodes are snapping to imaginary items even though snapping is turned off.

Looks like there are some auto-smooth nodes in the path - could be one adjacent (offscreen) to the node being moved.

Okay,  thank you I will look into that.

Sorry that is not it.  Here is a screenshot of one path and then a close up of the fill not aligning with the path.

All nodes are squares, where auto smooth would be circles.

This screen shot is the same path, just zoomed in.  I also changed the fill color to make it more clear.  You can see the fill is not lining up with the path.  As a side note, I have seen node types changing at times as well to match the miss draw of the preview.  At times the preview is way off, and the nodes will change to match what ever the preview shows.

Here is the file I am working on.  Left Ear layer is what the screenshots are of,  but the issue seems to happen in most if not all paths.

I did submit a bug report which has a little more detail, that can be found here: https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inbox/-/issues/7803

I do not want to complicate matters, but here is a good example of what I am seeing.  I moved the selected node in this screenshot, path10634 in the file.  You can see none of the nodes in the simple path are auto-smooth, but the fill preview is way off.

When I click off of the node and reselect the path, you can see the node has changed to match the fill preview.

Looks ok here. Any interesting hardware or screen modifiers like magnification?

No.  I just installed Inkscape 1.2, this is my first project with it. so it is a fresh install.  I did a complete uninstall of my prior version before this install.  I did not mention in this post, but I did in the bug report, but it seems to happen when zoomed in.  I have seen it at 4500%, but normally about 9000%.

    OS:

    Windows 10 Home - 19043.2130

If you had a previous installation, it might be worth resetting the preferences... they are persistent through installs unless explicitly saved elsewhere.
