Plugged in my old drawing tablet into my current setup (Aiptek12000/Inkscape 1.2 / Ubuntu 22.04 / hp ProDesk) and away I went, drawing merrily, till I realised the drawing was stretched sideways. Remembered I needed to 'calibrate the workspace', and had no idea how to do that.
Found this in 'Input devices', and if I type '1' , a small window opens into which I can type, But I've no idea what this relates to. If it had given XTop or XBottom, I could guess it was the coordinates of the screen top or bottom, but it doesn't, so not really made progress. Very grateful for any 'brain-dead instructions' (85 yo grey cells!)

On macOS it´s a driver setting that comes with the tablet.
Thanks.
Pity I don't have a Mac !
Seems the tablet is a thing of the past. Are you sure there´s no driver available or came with the device?
It's plug and play in Ubuntu, and works fine.
The only exception is how to change the ratio of horizontal movement to vertical ?
If I trace a square of 100mm side placed on the tablet, in Inkscape it appears as a rectangle 890mm wide by 230mm high !
I´m not sure if Inkscape is capable of doing so honestly. 🤔
I've posted a similar request on the Ubuntu forum, so I'm still hopeful.
I've used these tablets before, but just can't remember the methodology !
A simple explanation of inkscape's own 'input devices' pop up would help.
Ok - Fingers crossed someone comes up with a solution for you. 🤞
