Hello, I'd like to know if it's possible with python to create a script that would locate the visual center of each shape on a layer and assign a number to the center of these shapes? This script would be used to place the numbers in the mystery colorings I create, rather than having to place each number myself.
Edit: Some of the extensions in the Gallery are quite useful. Is there any possible way to get these actually inducted into future versions of Inkscape? Logic? If they are inducted then they will be updated/maintained by the Inkscape developers.

Maybe this extension will be helpful: https://inkscape.org/~whidev/%E2%98%85ids-to-text-elements
I can use that! Thanks!

That's the rub, I think... if the third party is maintaining the extension, the devs can focus on bugs and features.
