Beyond the Basics Two levels of linked images

It seems that Inkscape doesn't support more than one level of image linking. I did the following test:

    1. I created file1.svg with some shape
    2. I created file2.svg and imported file1.svg into it as a linked image (and added some other shape)
    3. I created file3.svg and imported file2.svg into it as a linked image

When I imported file2.svg into file3.svg, the content related to file1.svg is not shown. A "Linked Image Not Found" message is displayed instead. The problem continues if I import file3.svg into a file4.svg and so on (see attached image). It shows only the content that belongs directly to the imported file, not the nested ones.

I noticed this problem when I was trying to import a SVG that had a PNG image linked inside. At first, I thought is was a problem related to the PNG's path, but after the tests I realized that it happens even to SVG only files.

Anyone can confirm if it's a bug or a known issue?
