I am hoping someone can shed some light on my problem with text/font. When I try to add textย the font (no matter which kind I use) comes out looking like a shadow. This is a recent problem for me and it is driving me nuts. I create a text box and type something in. The text not only shows up looking like a shadow (the best way I can think of describing it) but it also seems to come out of the text box a bit. I've tried to find answers by searching this forum and using google but I haven't found the problem I am dealing with. I'm really hoping someone can help me and educate me on why my text looks like this and how I can fix it. I am grateful for any help I can get. Thanks in advance.
A bit hard to tell with the text tool active, but clearly there is some transparency or filtering happening.
It could be at the object level or at the group/layer level. If you scroll the FIll/Stroke dialog down you can see if there is reduced opacity at the object level. Likelyย it is 100% because the status bar indicates 100%. We cant see the layers with the Fill/Stroke dialog in the way.

Thanks for the help! It led me in the right direction. Turns out the stroke width was turned way up and that what makes the font look so big.ย
