I just started using Inkscape to create a new company logo. I realised that creating the logo using vector graphics would allow me to scale up and down without any loss of quality - please let me know if that's wrong. So, my logo is a basic one - a freehand outline shape, whicih is then filled with one colour, and then uses a different colour for the outline (stroke). When I zoom in to the image, the quality is perfect, but when I zoom out, the edges get a bit rough and have imperfections. This is an issue for me, because I will need to reproduce the logo at different sizes. Is this a known issue with Inkscape, or am I doing something wrong?
So the first image is super zoomed in, and the 2nd one is at 100% zoom. You can see that the tip of the red filled area is disfigured. This only seems to be a problem for me at sharp edges like that - the rest of the image is fine. If I try to export a .png at 100% size, the defects are carried over unfortuantely, so it's not just a display issue.
Thank you Polygon, I've fixed the problem and the image appears the same at all zoom levels! I found several nodes that I think were superfluous, and I deleted them. At least I think they were nodes...little square boxes that said 'handle to path' when I hovered over them. I probably drew the object in a less than optimum way. I will find a tutorial for drawing it properly again from scratch I think, because while the logo appears symmetrical, some of the nodes are not in symmetrical places.
Thanks again for the help, I really appreciate it!
In most cases you can check by rectangle selecting with the node tool over a region and check StatusBar for the amount of nodes. And there´s a button to "Join selected nodes".
Hello all,

Thank you for any assistance!
It's not clear what you mean by "a bit rough" with "imperfections". Perhaps you can upload some screenshots.
Thanks Paddy - here are some images:

Thanks again for taking the time to help.
Can you check for "double nodes" please or upload that portion perhaps?
