Beginners' Questions Duplicating a gradient - changing one changes both
  1. #1
    ugh ugh @ugh

    Steps to reproduce:

    - New document, create a gradient on layer 1.

    - Duplicate layer 1. Lock original.

    - Edit color of gradient on duplicate. Hide duplicate.

    - Original gradient now has the colors of the duplicate, even though those layers were locked.

This also works the other way - changing the original while the duplicate is locked also changes the duplicate.

Looks like a bug to me. Reproduced in v1.4.2, Windows 10, but not in 1.4.2, Linux Mint 21.

    Please file a report.

Thanks Tyler - was wondering if I was loosing my mind. For my use of Inkscape, I rarely use gradients but last week I was playing around (following a video) and couldn't understand why I was having same issue the OP posted.
