Beyond the Basics Dxf import wrong dimension?

    Hi,

previously I've used Adobe illustrator to import dxf and it keeps same scale and unit.

If I import in inkscape it changes both real dimension and mm to px.

Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

    Thanks, BR

Some versions of DXF are considered unitless, so it's not uncommon to rescale. I typically export dxf from cad in mm, as described in the Inkscape import dxf help tab.

You may need to set the document to your preferred units in the document properties dialog, but the imported geometry should be the correct size.

I regularly work in CAD and export to dxf for tweaks in Inkscape on the way to a laser cutter.

That's also my use case, from autocad UNITS > type Decimal and Scale was missing.

Now in Inkscape the dxf still open with px as predefined units but switching to mm preserve real dimension.

In inskcape I've added Edit > Preferences > Interface > Grids > units: mm but still open with px.

    Thank you!
