Snap Package for Linux, MacPorts Port for OS X available

The latest Inkscape release, Inkscape 0.92, is now available for you to install on OS X via MacPorts, and as a distribution-independent snap package for GNU/Linux.

OS X

Dave Evans, from MacPorts.org, informed the project that Inkscape 0.92 is now available via MacPorts both as an X11 build and as a native Quartz build. For those who want to follow development toward 0.92.1, an inkscape-devel port is also available which builds a recent snapshot from the lp:inkscape/0.92.x release branch. The current version in the development port is 0.92.0 bzr 15301. Installation instructions and more info can be found on the download page for OS X, and at macports.org.

GNU/Linux

Inkscape Board member Ted Gould has made Inkscape available as a snap package. Snaps are a distribution-independent way of installing software on Linux. If you would like to try it out, find more info on our download page for GNU/Linux distributions.
