There is no option to display labels with tool icons. This would take up too much screen space (in my opinion). However, hovering your cursor over an icon should reveal the corresponding tool tip.Β
Thank you. Unfortunately, that doesn't work on touch-screen devices (of which I've a few), and takes an inordinate amount of time when looking for a specific tool in amongst all of the available ones. Consequently, I've askedΒ https://inkscape.org/en-gb/forums/questions/can-tools-be-searched-for/#c80640Β instead. If there's no way to do that, I'll file an FR for both.
How can I render labels for toolbar entries, in addition to, or in the stead of, their icons? I see nothing in the Preferences.
