You could use Outset. 1) Select the object. 2) Menu Bar > Path > Object to Path. 3) Menu Bar > Path > Outset or Ctrl + ). Depending on what it is you may want to make it larger or smaller so it increments less or more as you desire.

Is there any way to increase the stroke size on the guidelines?ย They are so small I can hardly select them.ย Can we change that?
Also, the text name with the guideline.ย Can we make that larger?
Tell me what you can and thanks ...
Bob

I can't seem to select the guideline to do the path operations.
If I double click, I get the guideline dialogue box.
I use that to change the angle of the guideline.ย I wish the stroke width was here!
I am changing the guidelines a lot as I am following compass readings and creating a trail map.
What I do works, but hoping there is a better way.
Thanks

Outset/Inset are not related to guidelines.
...Stroke and Text.... My comment wasn't for the guidelines. Do we really have to do this? Down voting works just fine.
@EagleWorks, please describe your workflow, step by step.
I drag a guideline out.
It is so small I can hardly see it to select to move it or double click it to change the angle of the same.
My question is ... can you change the stroke of the guideline?ย Also the size of the text for the name of the guideline?
I am doing a trail map and change the guideline with every new compass reading.ย Then draw a trail line with a grid for distance.
Time consuming, but don't know of any other way to make a map.

I don't see a way offhand, but that would make a good feature request.
Only workaround that comes to mind is to try loweringย the computer display resolution while making maps.
Thanks for your thoughts.
I'll close this post now.
