"Why does Inkscape not remember the export directory last used?"
Title says it all; why does Inkscape not remember the directory last used for exporting files? Every time I click on the button to choose the directory for exporting I start off in the home folder; which is far and removed from my current working directory. Most other software remembers the last directory I used and starts me off there. but not Inkscape.
I don't have this problem. When I use the Export panel, Inkscape uses the directory this SVG is opened from. Did you tried to reset Inkscape to its factory settings ?
@m1981 Yes, I see that now. Just seemed like there was something wrong when the export feature did not remember the last directory that was exported to. Instead I now see how it resets to point at either the home directory or whatever directory the project file was saved in. So I guess this is a feature and not a bug.

If the problem persists, maybe a bug to report...
