Hi there, I am currently learning the basics of Inkscape and would like to learn how to emboss a text on or in (depending how you look at it) an image, having the image color pattern displayed in the text. I have searched for a tutorial but haven't found any that does what I am looking for.
As an example I have found one example in this video but it is for PS. Is there a way to do this in Inkscape and if so how?
I hope someone with a YouTube channel about Inkscape would be so kind to make a tutorial for the noobs! I am going to continue my courses some more and find out about using filters. At least I know it can be done and have an inkling about how.

Please share an example image of the effect you would like to reproduce. Images can be attached with the paperclip button, or links can be posted.
Here are two examples where the underlaying image or texture is continuing through the embossed text.
This is a process more suited to Gimp, which probably has a one-click effect to satisfy the challenge.
But, if the goal is to accomplish a similar effect in vector objects, there are methods that can approximate the effect.
Is there a specific need to use vectors (the more difficult route)?
No question it´s possible in general by adding an "Inset" filter to the text and a duplicate of the text to clip a duplicate of the background image:
Nice.
I hadn't played with that before.

easy to start
Just did a quick video search for "Inkscape emboss".
https://www.google.com/search?client=ms-android-verizon&sxsrf=APwXEdfW4-RiMsgOa6qMXhXyTiHr8_jyng:1687805104063&q=inkscape+emboss&tbm=vid&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwituLX9y-H_AhUTVDUKHaWZAUYQ0pQJegQICxAB&biw=360&bih=560&dpr=2
And try "INKSCAPE shadow filter" and also this similar idea of a paper cut out effect

And, for a short mini tutorial of using the filter editor (tweaking settings), see this
