Hi,
how can I reduce a textbox size while maintaining the correct relationship between hight and width of the text inside?
I find that by just dragging the corner arrows it doesn't guarantee that this relationship is maintained, because it can be challenging to detect by just naked eye sometimes and it can easily become distorted without one realizing.

Try holding Ctrl while dragging the resize arrows, to constrain the operation to proportional sizing only.
