I have a new laptop with Ubuntu 21.10. I want to use Symbolic icons in Inkscape, but each time I go in the Preferences > Themeing > use symbolic icons, this option doesn't keep activated when I close Inkscape.

Please if you know what I am doing wrong, let me know ! I really prefer the symbolic icons.

I'm using 21.04 - With Inscape 1.1.1. 

No problem using the symbolic icons and they are there when Inkscape restarts. 

Generally if settings are not saved it means that either Inkscape is not exiting cleanly, or that it is unable to save the preferences.xml file in the ~/.config/inkscape folder.

I would launch Inkscape from the terminal - exit it from the gui as normal, and see if any error messages appear when closing. 

Also check to make sure ~/.config/inkscape is writable.

I have Inkscape 1.1 too.

It's the first time I launch Inkscape in this new computer so... no file to clean yet.

~/.config/inkscape seem writable. I already create a default.svg with no canvas's shadow and a grey background and in english but it seem not keeping the theiming neither the units (I prefer px than mm...).

Launching Inkscape throught a Terminal not display any message.

I have no more idea  :-(
