Hi everybody! I am not able to do Path-Difference in the attached file. Nothing grouped and I can not figure out what else could be a problem.

The result should be that the red line representing the character should be cut out of the black shape.

Anybody can help please?

Seems to be the outline of the black object. If removed you get your desired result.

Thanks. It worked. I did not know that an object must not have an outline.
