Beginners' Questions How to rotate a gradient with its object

I seem to be losing any gradients i create when I rotate the object that the gradient is applied to.

How do I prevent this and instead freeze, or set, or, bond, bind, orr lock (right words -- hope they convey the meaning?) an object's gradient so that the gradient rotates with the object with no changes.

The first pic is the graded vertical version.

The second one is the object rotated 180.  Notice how the  rotation seems to be freezing the gradient, and only rotating the object Horizontally, so that the Hoz version only uses the center portion of what was in the vertical versions gradient.

How does one rotate an objects gradient along with its object? (so that everything rotates, not just the object)

    Thanks.

Interesting. Can you share that original SVG? We can take a look.

You can lock gradients to the object they belog to. Did you activate this icon?

    Yes, that was the problem.

Clicked it on: and now the gradient rotates with the object.. All's well.

    Thanks!!
