I'm using Inkscape 1.2.2 (732a01da63, 2022-12-09) on Windows 10 Pro, version 21H1 (OS build 19043.985, feature Experience Pack 120.2212.2020.0). I will try to roll back to a previous version of Inkscape to see if I get my fonts back.
I had the exact same issue as the other user: Almost half of the font previews showed as boxes and if I applied them to a text that would either become boxes or revert to Arial. The fix for me was to uninstall 1.2.2 and reinstall 1.2.1.
As mentioned in my previous post I was running Windows 10 Pro, version 21H1 (OS build 19043.985, feature Experience Pack 120.2212.2020.0,) but I'm now running Windows Pro, version 22H2 (OS build 19045.2604, feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0) with the same experience/issue. I should note that the system language on my computer is Swedish. Once again, the solution for me was to uninstall 1.2.2 and revert to 1.2.1.
Still having the same issue with Inkscape 1.3 (0e150ed6c4, 2023-07-21). Currently running Windows 10 Pro, OS build 19045.3636, Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19053.1000.0.
