Over the past two weeks, I have been trying to find the easiest method of creating a calligraphic Latin font in Inkscape. On a previous forum, I discussed how to create the weighted-line effect using the path tool (https://inkscape.org/forums/questions/calligraphy-effect-with-the-path-tool/#c16828). Although the recommended trick works most of the time, the process is tedious and tends to be glitchy.
I would like to know if there is a faster method of creating a calligraphic-type font in Inkscape. I am aware of the trick of using the trace bitmap tool, but I have had bad experiences in the past using this tool to transfer handwritten text. I'm assuming I might need to clean up the vector scan in GIMP before transfering it to inkscape. I'm hoping there is already someone on this forum who has already had experience creating calligraphic fonts in Inkscape.
