Beginners' Questions Certain Extensions Crash Inkscape on Mac

I'm using Mac Mojave (10.14.6) and the latest Inkscape for Mac.  I've tried to use several extensions that are claimed to be updated for Inkscape 1.0, but once added to the appropriate folder, inkscape crashes.  Perhaps I'm not installing them properly?  The only way to recover is to delete the app and the application support file org.Inkscape.inkscape, then reinstall the app followed by re-copying known working extension back in.  Should I reach out to the developer of the extension?  (of which I also have no idea how to do), or am I just not doing something right?  I appreciate any guidance!

This is no explanation of why the problem occurred, but after reloading inkscape and adding back in the extension files, this time it works!  Not sure why, but I'm happy to help those that have a better understanding of the code and how it interacts with the main program to further troubleshoot if they so desire.  If I recall, the only thing I did slightly differently, was to add the extension files in BEFORE starting Inkscape.  Whereas before, when it crashed, Inkscape was already open - I added the extension files - closed Inkscape and upon re-starting the crash occurred.
