Beyond the Basics Use Google Fonts, or other online fonts, in Inkscape

    First of all, THANK YOU for Inkscape. This is, absolutely, my favourite  piece of software ever!

    I use Inkscape to create presentations for my students (based on the awesome JessyInk extension). My students need to have the same fonts installed that I have used in the document, or the presentation will look weird (or plainly wrong; e.g. I use rectangles to identify the different sections of an IP address —network, subnet, host—, and if the right font is not installed, the text sizes differ, and the rectangles do not match the intended text).

    REQUEST:

    That Inkscape allows to use Google fonts, or any other fonts available online, the way it can be done for a web page using a tag like

    <link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Arvo' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>

    Since Inkscape creates and saves drawings as XML, I don't really know if this is feasible. I just hope so.

    Independently of the results, thanks in advance for considering it!
