I reported this issue over five years ago but have still not seen improvement in the situation. I am now running version 1.4.2
When I select text and go to the Text and Font tool, then scroll through the various fonts I have installed, so preview properly and some do not. I've been trying to see if there is a pattern to it but so far can't see one. This feature is so useful and would be more useful if it worked for all fonts.
For example, Berlin Sans FB previews properly, but Berlin Sans FB Demi does not.
Does anyone else have this issue? Is there any plans to fix it?

You could add your comments to the report and note that you had better results on the 1.3 dev version.
