Beginners' Questions What happened to my cursor?

In the old version whenever I used a tool like Bezier lines or drawing a rectangle there used to be a small cross on the upper left of the cursus. I knew that the location of the cross is where I could start drawint my line. Now I use Inkscape 1.1 and I did something strange so now the cross is no longer visible. It used to be there in 1.1 but now it is gone. This way I cannot tell where to start drawing a line. I went through each and every menu option and I even compared all the preference settings between Inkscape 1 and 1.1 but no success. Please help!

the image of the cursus with the cross is the type I want back!

Never occurred to me on macOS and I don´t see any settings in Preferences which might help with this issue. Maybe go Preferences->System=Reset Preferences and restart Inkscape. Fingers crossed.

I did some more research and this seems to be a known bug. It happens after you change line stiles a few times.  Restarting won’t solve the issue. Hopefully a new version of Inkscape will tackle the issue.

Ouch. Never heard of it before though.

    Ok - I´m a happy camper then - I wonder why it haven´t been fixed for 1.1?

The initial point can be fixed with the node-tool - but do you get any indicator when starting at an existing node - which I find important?

Nope. You have to move in circles around the node hoping to make it stick. Very annoying.

Understood - I couldn´t work under these circumstances.
