Inkscape 1.2 windows 64-bit OS new install approx 1 month ago
I’ve been working in Inkscape today and was trying to cut, paste and blur to extend the top of my design before printing. somehow I’ve changed a setting on my text. ive tried to read though comments to fix. I’ve gone in and double clicked on preferences/ system / reset preferences to try and fix it but nothings working. I’ve even exited Inkscape, and then opened up an existing document and it still does the same thing. I’ve added a picture of what it’s doing.
Sometimes Inkscape inserts a Stroke width from a last used tool to text objects - that's what it looks like. So check for an added Stroke style and delete it.
You have to remember I’ve only been using this a bit. I’ve been to preferences/ text and went to style of new objects and selected “This tools own style instead of last used style. I’d done that before but I guess I missed something. Well that fixed it. So now in order to see my text is there a way to set the default size pt to say 80?

I'd set my text the way I prefer, open the Text and Font dialog (Ctrl+Shift+T), then click the button that says Set as Default.
