Hi All,

When I download a svg file which was created with CorelDraw, It won't allow mw to union a name to the deign.

The steps I take are,

1) Type Name

2) Path, Object to path

3) Ungroup

4 Union the name (and I also tried "Group")

5) Union the name to the svg design

Most times, nothing will happen at all. Sometimes I will switch everything to nodes, then union, but almost everything will disappear or turn black.

This same file will weld/union names successfully on other programs such as CorelDraw, Sillouhette and AI.

Most svg files I purchase the above steps will work, it seems to be isolated to one graphic artits designs, who is using CorelDraw.

Please help me figure this problem out? What am I doing wrong?

for text objects just use Path->Union to convert. Please check the Status bar for what you have on the table when selected.

Hi Polygon, thanks for your suggestion. I just tried that and it still did not union.

What does the Status bar tells about the objects?

Path, 128 nodes in root.

And the other object you want to do the union with?

Separately, each of the two objects state " Group of one object in root"

When i select the design which was downloaded, click on Path, status bar reads, "No objects to convert to path in the selection"

Simply ungroup the group.
