Beginners' Questions Unable to Draw a Proper Circle

    I am trying to draw a circle and I end up with an odd shape. When I click on the shape with the "Edit Path by Nodes" tool, I see two small squares and two small circles, one of which is green (see attached). I can open and close the shape by sliding the green circle.

    Is there some way to reset everything so I can draw a normal circle?
