I am a brand new user of graphic software. I have watched a couple videos about tracing bitmaps in order to make vector files. I just downloaded Inkscape today. When I tried tracing a bitmap my dialog box did not include the option to "Remove Background." Any guidance would be great. Thanks
Assuming you're using Inkscape 1.0, the dialog has been reworked to only show the relevant options for each type of tracing operation. Have you got the "Trace Bitmap" tab selected, then the "Multiple scans" mode? The remove background option is not available for the "Single scan" mode.

Describe your OS & version, the version of Inkscape and the installer you used.
Brand new computer Windows 10 and I used the 64bit choice for windows on the inkscape download site
There are three 64 bit Windows installers (.msi, .exe and zip). Please indicate which you downloaded. Thanks.
