I create a single text character and i convert it to path but it looks like no path operation can be applied between the letter and some other path object. The file is attached.
The single character is a group after conversion. Next time convert text with Path->Union. Now ungroup and proceed and check the status bar from time to time for any hints.

Hello guys. I run inkscape1.1.2 on linux Manjaro.

Wow it works! I thought that ungrup procedure required for words and not for a single character.

Check more often the Status bar for hints+tricks at the bottom of the Inkscape window.
