I am very new to InkScape. This is a fantastic program.
I am attempting to edit an architect's drawing. When I try to Find and Replace text all the replacement text letters are stacked on top of each other. If I edit the text object, they return to their normal side by side positions. But if I replace text in multiple item selection, I must edit each one to make them display normally.
I think it has something to do with the spacing of the characters. But I'm not sure what. The characters I'm replacing look close together. If I retype one of the 'UNIT' word with a retype one, then replace doesn't smash the characters together.
I'm on Windows 10 Pro 21H1, Inkscape Ver 1.1.
Relevant info: The file I started with was extracted from a PDF file. I don't know what program was used to generate the drawing. Maybe the file I'm using has an issue?
Here's a screenshot where I used F&R to replace two selected items.

Edit: I decided to touch all the text objects that were smashed together. That fixed it. There is likely something about the imported file that wasn't right.

No need to reply.
It is common for imported PDFs to have manual kerns removed via the text menu.
