I am making a decal for printing on an electronics box. (size does matter after all). My decal is 130mm long in inkscape. When I print to PDF and then print the output I find my decals shrunk to 120mm. I am hoping this is an anomaly in the PDF conversion or printing the PDF. The idea is to to a test print using 'domestic' printers before taking SVG to commercial printer.
Hi All,

Can anyone give some guidance?

Do you export to pdf or print to pdf (ie use a pdf printer) ?
I'd use the first solution.
Furthermore, remember that actual print size also depends on your printer settings : the result may be wrong despite a good pdf.
Ye I did 'print to PDF'. OK. Result is kinda expected.. Getting job done using SVG should solve those issues.
Thanks for the advice.

Actually it is MUCH worse than I thought.
My original decal was 133mm x 68mm. I 'print to PDF' ed it. Printed it out and measured at 123mm x 65mm.
Now I find my original is now 123mm x 65mm.
I did not (knowingly) shrink it by 10%.
Anyone got any ideas on this one??
Thanks
Dave
