Beginners' Questions Set colour of text before typing?

    OS: Linux Mint XFCE

    Inkscape: 1.1.1

    Is it possible to choose the colour of the text before typing? Here's what's happening now:

    1. Choose text tool.

    2. Choose fill colour (green, or red, or white, or anything but black).

    3. Text is black.

    4. If I choose the fill colour after I type it works, but it would be great to be able to do it in the opposite order.

    Thanks for any help/suggestions.

    I'd try using "Last style..." in Preferences. (double-click on the A in the toolbox).
