Beginners' Questions Saved SVG file is different from what i saved.

When i created my keychain through Inkscape, i saved the file to my desktop. It is an svg file.

I dragged and dropped it into my Retina Engrave 1.0 (Muse full spectrum laser) program and the file is nothing what i worked on or saved.

I cut the file anyways, (hoping for a miracle) but alas, it did not work.

I'm so close to pulling this off, as my wife is hounding me to get this going, so we can start selling them.

I'll include a few photos for reference.

    Thank you again!

    Here is a typical workflow:

    1. Type text
    2. Convert text to paths (Path>Object to path)
    3. Ungroup
    4. Union paths
    5. Clean any unwanted lines
    6. Path outset
    7. Save
    8. Open file in cutter software

In Inkscape versions <1.0, steps 2-4Β can be performed by using Path>Union (secret shortcut).

Hey Tyler, thanks for the reply.

I went back to v0.92. I wasnt able to (Path-outset) before but now i can.

I'll try your method above if it makes any difference. I just don't know why the saved file would be different, when i drag and dropped it from my desktop to retina engrave 3.0.
